Anyone offering a property for sale or rent is required to produce an Building Energy Rating Cert prior to signing contracts.
Auctioneers or selling agents are also required to produce a BER cert for properties offered for sale or rent.

Why?
A BER certificate is intended to inform the tennant or purchaser of the annual energy required to heat and light a new or existing home.
The BER rating will be taken into consideration when negociating the rent or purchase price of a property.
